In 2021, the city of Utena was adorned with a new work of art – a bronze heart, dedicated to the commemoration of Bernard Lown, Nobel Peace Prize laureate, renowned cardiologist and inventor of the modern defibrillator.
This initiative was born as part of the project "Old Neighbours", which was created by cultural historian Sandra Dastikienė, with the aim of drawing attention to the Jewish community and its culture and heritage in the Utena region.
The artistic part of the project was implemented by Lauryna Kiškytė, artist specializing in metal jewellery.
