Old Believers’ Church of the Intercession of the Holy Mother of God in Šeimatis
A Russian Old Believers’ house of worship, belonging to the religious community. It is closed and no services are held. After the January Uprising, as part of the Russification of Lithuania, the Russian Old Believers were settled in Šeimatis by the government. After the resettlement, the Old Believers built a wooden house of worship. Further history of the church is not well documented. The church, which stands today, is a wooden, rectangular building, covered in vertical boards. It has a rather wide porch surmounted by a low octagonal tower with an octagonal spire ending in an Old Believers' cross. The prayer hall is divided into women's and men's sections, which is typical of the Old Believers' houses of worship. The Šeimatis Old Believers' cemetery is close to the house of worship. The church is not included in the Register of Cultural Property.
