The story of Dr. Bernard Lown is immortalized in an artwork!
In the fall of 2024, a new street art piece appeared on the wall of the Utena Hospital Consultation Polyclinic, dedicated to honoring one of the most famous figures from the Utena region – the doctor, cardiologist, inventor of the defibrillator, and Nobel Peace Prize laureate, Bernard Lown.
The mural was created over a week by artist Tadas Šimkus from the Gyva Grafika studio, with the goal of reminding people about Dr. Lown’s contributions.
