Stables of Užpaliai Manor - Kamenyčia
Užpaliai Manor stands as a testament to local architecture, adorned with classical features. In the latter half of the 18th century, it belonged to Hetman Mykolas Oginskis. However, following the uprising of 1831, it passed into the possession of the Treasury of Tsarist Russia. Presently, four manor buildings have endured the test of time. Among them, one structure, which became known as “the stables”, was bought by Viktorija Jovarienė, a farmer and a famous horsewoman from Užpaliai, who was the first woman to take part in the Sartai Horse Race.
"The Hall of 100 Cloths", the volost elder’s office, "the Pantry for Girls", "the Little Bank", an old school classroom are among the many fascinating things that you can see when you visit the former manor stables.
Built in 1808, the stone stables are becoming more accessible to visitors and are hosting captivating events. Viktorija Jovarienė, the luminary of Užpaliai, is happy to share her life's treasure chest with people who come to visit.
